Day 3 Vila Cha to Agucadoura

We may have accidentally committed a felony at the end of our day but I will get to that later.

The day started off beautifully. We started walking around 8AM and there was quite a bit of fog which meant it was nice and cool. I was a little worried about today because google maps was telling me we had 11 miles to go and after yesterday I wasn’t sure I could do it.

I was feeling encouraged by scenery like this

My legs were getting pretty fatigued after mile 6 so we stopped to have lunch. By then the sun was out in full force. We had a nice long lunch and then set off to tackle what google said was another 5 miles. The combination of sun and food was not sitting well with me so by mile 8 I called it and decided we should Uber to our accommodations for the evening. I am glad we did because the walk inland to our accommodations looked horrendous.

So here is where the possible felony comes in. The Uber driver let us out and took off and Rich and I were trying to figure out which house was the correct one. We went to the Booking app and the picture was a red house and the owner sent us detailed instructions on how to enter. They started with “the front door will be open”. You see where this is going, right? Well we walk in to a house that looked similar to the picture and yes the door was wide open but there were no people and it looked very much like someone’s house. The instructions said to go upstairs so we did but we still didn’t see anyone and we both felt like something was off. Rich looked in one room and saw kids clothes on the floor and we realized we were in fact in someone’s house! We exited quickly and stood in the street trying to figure out where we were. Well it turns out the red house booking is for TOMORROW in a completely different town. Today’s booking is for a little yellow house, 2 doors down from the one we accidentally went into. Hopefully whoever owns that house doesn’t have security cameras!

We are now relaxing and I am trying not to think about tomorrow which is another 11 mile day.

We hope you all are enjoying reading about our (mis)adventures! The comments mean so much to us and really help us to feel connected to you all so please keep em coming!
