Triacastela to Sarria - October 7-8
Hello from Sarria! We are at the point now where we are losing our minds! We have no idea where we are, what day it is or where we are going. Case in point:
The walk from Triacastela to Sarria was long. I did 6 miles and Rich and Olga did the whole 18. It was exciting to get to Sarria because now the end is in sight.
We had a pleasant down day in Sarria. I was able to buy some new shirts and get rid of my two stained shirts that were ready to be burned!
I had a special wink from Mom yesterday. We were walking and a German Shepard ran right up to us looked me in the face and let me pet him and then went on his way. He seemed to be looking for me.
We had a gourmet dinner prepared by our personal Camino chef, Olga!
Olga can turn anything into a fancy meal! No tablecloth? No problema! No table? No problema!
Today’s walk to Gonzar is just under 19 miles with lots of ups and downs. I am cabbing it today. The combination of me on steroids for Lupus and being in nature is not a good one. Actual conversation from the other day:
Olga: “Look, how beautiful it is, with the tress and cows!”
Sunita: “It smells like poop”
Olga: “Oh wow! Look at the beautiful cascading water?!”
Sunita: “yeah water, big deal”
Olga: “Sunita, I love you so much. I don’t care how cranky the steroids make you”
Sunita: inaudible grunt a la Roy Kent that meant “I love you too but I want to die right now”
I didn’t take that many pics but here are a couple from the walk
I’m in a much better mood now (thankfully)!
Thought I would add a couple more photos from our walk to Sarria and our down day. Rich
