We made it! Santiago - October 12-14

As Rich posted, we made it to Santiago. I am still processing and letting it all sink in so I reserve the right to write more about it later. I just wanted to do a little post to thank you all for following along with us. All of your messages and comments really helped us to keep going and made us feel connected to you all while we were on this epic journey.

It was surreal walking into Santiago. Rich captured what was going through our minds at that time. I just want to add how much I am in awe of both Rich and Olga.

Olga literally walked every single step of the Camino Frances. She did not stop. On top of that, she remained so joyful and happy the entire time. I don’t understand how someone walks 20 miles and can still have the energy to sing and dance around the hostel while repacking their bag! But that is my friend Olga. She we will go to any lengths to make sure you are happy even if she is exhausted. She literally made us focaccia one night because we were in an apartment and she thought it would be a nice change!

I can’t say enough about how special Olga is. I just feel so lucky that I got to share this adventure with her

Now let’s talk about my rockstar husband! Seriously, how amazing is he? He also walked every step of the Camino save for a few days that he sacrificed for me when I was having a lupus flare and he didn’t feel good about leaving me alone. That’s the kind of selfless act that he does on the regular without a second thought. I truly don’t deserve him but I am so thankful that I somehow tricked him into loving me. Walking into the cathedral square while holding his hand is a memory I will carry forever

Rich has a big birthday coming up so we are capping off our adventure with a few days in Paris.

The adventure continues…
